I am trying to find out the manufacturer of this mtb.I was told it was hand made in Cambridge in the late80s-early90s and it's nickel plated.
any suggestions?

Are those tubes machined with the spiral pattern into them?

It's an unusual feature that will help ID the bike.

Drop outs, gussets & cable routing may also give clues.

  • Not sure if you've done this already, but it may be worthwhile posting this up on Retrobike too.
  • Hi Andy_B
    thanks for your quick reply.
had a look at the bike and the spiral is machined into the tube. there is no drop-outs. No gussets, witha straight weld to the tubes. the cable routes are machined and welded on top of frame. on the rear down tube there is rack fixings.
it was bought as a frame only and could only have cantilever brakes. there is a serial stamp underneath but my local bike shop couldn't trace it.
As said on my post, thought to be built in Cambridge but not entirely sure as the bike has been passed on to me.
