Continental Rubber Queens anyone?

Hi all,

I am currently running some 2.0 maxxis larsen tt tyres on my hardtail and am sick of sliding around in the mud!

I ride mostly xc but lately have been playing around on some northshore and dh stuff and my larsens just don't do it.

Been looking at getting some 2.2 continental rubber queen's.

Anyone running these and love or hate them?

I hear they come up big and some people have clearance problems?

If not what do you recommend?

Thanks

Jimmy

  • I've tried these. They are very good but come up pretty big. The tread is quite low profile so I wouldnt use them as a mud tyre. The soft compound gives them loads of grip and they roll well.
  • I have em in 2.2 UST, I think they're a pretty good all rounder,

Not tried them personally, but a friend apparently did in Amsterdam... didn't walk straight for a week!

I rate the Larsens very highly for trail centre packed single track and rocks, but drag in mud, so use Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1 for mud/XC.

Just switching to Conti Mountain Kings this week as going tubeless. A friend of mine goes well on the Rubber Queens, but again not XC mud.

I believe you need two different tyres for best performance in each environment as the requirements are too different.

I ride them - they cime up very big and are not a mud tyre. Otherwise very good.

I am not a massive fan of lots of mud anyway so thats not to much of a problem

I hear really good things about the mountain kings so maybe i will look at those also and yea you are right damonc two different tyres is prob going to be the best bet.
