Ive noticed that I have started to clench my toes when pushing down on my pedals, do my shoes not fit or are my cleats in the wrong place?

Thanks

What about the cold weather ? - and a lack of (relative) fitness......ie your slamming down on pedals because of a lack of energy, and an unwillingness to get out of tjhe saddle and take in that freezing air???

I had the same issue last weekend ....yet the bike was fine last autumn !
  • could be the cold or fatigue, I did do 90 miles at the weekend and play football, haven't had the trouble before though?

Could be cleat position - or maybe you just aren't as flexible this year. Try some calf and hamstring stretches.
  • Hard to say really - they could be too small. If you stand in them off bike and relax your toes do you toes need more space? Are they up against the end?

I clenched up my toes in a pair that were too small.
