I am thinking of maybe buying a Scott Gambler 20 2010.
Has anyone ridden/have one?
I am looking for a DH/Freeride bike, but with the ability to to 4X/Dual Slalom.
Does anyone know how much it weighs? Could you pedal it up a hill if it came to it??
What bikes are comparable to the Gambler?
Thanks a lot,
ZCM.

If you want a bike capable of DH/FR/4X.. have a look at the Orange Blood. Tis a slopestyle bike so kinda between 4x and freeride, but more freeride oriented so would be good for DH.
You're gonna struggle to find a bike thats great at all 3!0 -
if you've go that much money surely 2 separate bikes 1 for downill and one for the 4x would be more sensible otherwise you're going to be compromised one way or the other. And the gamblers predecessor the nitrous was definitely a bike i'd not wanna be using on a 4x course and the gambler is even bigger than that0

+1 to orange blood, also check out the scott voltage fr0

or there's a Santa Cruz Blur 4X on eBay at the minute, I love mine and don't hesitate to throw it down anything, and ride it all day.0

I take it that you are referring to the Orange Blood FR? - I haven't looked much at Orange, but I shall certainly consider it....
I have now found a second hand 2009 Scott Gambler 20 for £1500, so I was not necessarily intending to pay for a new one...
I have looked at the Voltage FR, and it is definitely a strong contender...
I know finding a compromise is difficult!
Thanks a lot for the replies guys - most appreciated!0 -
I'd say voltage FR over the gambler. Fantastic little bike and adjustable enough for what you want to do, change the tyres and shock setting between disciplines.0

Id agree, they look pretty awesome and that little bit more chuckable. Try one out if you can0 -
The gambler is a great DH FR bike but it is DH FR only - I would never consider 4x on it - or pedalling it uphill lol
The bike you need for what you mention is the voltage for sure
Check out all the different ways you can set it up over here http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=541551 from dirt jump to dh slayer0 -
Sweet - that looks like the bike for me then!
Do you know where you could try one out? - in some appropriate terrain...
Scott don't seem to be at many demo-days... Shame.
And thanks again for the advice - most helpful.
All I need now is to actually get the bike!0 -
