Thermo jersey/jacket

Hi
I'm planning on buying a thermo jersey/soft jacket now that they tend to be in the sales. This is for 'club run' type rides and spotives, for when it's coooold. I have a waterproof jacket already (so don't need waterproof). Windproof is desirable. Very warm is a must.
Any recommendations?
When does a thermo jersey become a light jacket?
Thanks in advance...

Hi
Endura fs260 pro jetstream,
very warm with long sleeve base layer, great fit, looks brill0 -
What budget? Assos 851 is superb, but pricey.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

Gore Tool - warmer than an 851, has more pockets plus pit-zips for ventilation and if you shop around should be able to score one for about £90. Anything 'warmer' would be overkill IME.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Thanks for the tips. Evans have the Gore Tool for 70 quid in the sale - my local has the right sizes in stock. Methinks a trip down there is in order today, what with the snow coming (again)...0

BTW - budget is about 50-100 quid. I thought I posted it up earlier, but now see it didn't get there...0

I went for the Gore Phantom and am very happy with it.It's versatile to with removable arms0

a mate has the Tool and it's good but it has to be pretty cold to work properly. On mild days he cooks.
I have the Oxygen SO (two in fact) which is lighter and a good jacket. Bit like a Phantom but the arms stay on and the cut is more roadie. The phantom is 'squarer'.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
any of the soft shells, endura stealth gets my vote!Carbon is a mans best freind0

If it is warmth you are after, I have bought a Buffalo Cycle Shirt and found it to be outstanding as normally I am quite a chilly mortal this time of year.

Rapha winter jersey. With a base layer + thin wind breaker i'm warmer then with my £250 winter jacket in sub zero temps. and on the rare balmy days I skip the thermal base and open the vents.
Got on sale for £80.0 -
Gore Xenon Thermo Jersey, £50 on Evans0

I have a mavic altium £50.00 in the sales at primera sports

+1 for the Gore Oxygen SO
That plus a merino baselayer is plenty warm. I add in a long sleeved cycling top in the middle if super chilly (that combo has done me OK at -2 plus windchill)Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0
