Hi, I'm looking to get my girlfriends lad a bike so he can start coming out with me on rides round Grizedale Forest once it gets a bit lighter in the evenings.
He's 9 and is 4'8" and getting bigger all the time, so not sure whether to go for a 24" or small 26". I want to get him something of reasonable standard, but funds are limited so can't really go for anything more than £250.
Can anyone make any recommendations?

  • Highly recommend Islabikes. My boy has had a 24" Beinn since he was 7 and I guess around 1.1metres. Sloping top tube means you can go a size up compared to normal MTB geometry.

26" Beinn would be a little above your budget but well worth the extra as they last forever.
