This summer i'm off to Morzine, France for a week of lift-assisted riding.
To get there I maybe flying (Easyjet). I've done a little research on flying with a bike but does anyone have any tips about this?
Thanks
Rob

just make sure you put your bike in a proper bike bag or box, put cardboard and bubble wrap around all the easily brakable bits -mech hangers, front deraliuer etc. check with the airlines about shock pressures aswell, some insist that you deflate your shocks before flying0

http://www.switch-backs.com/switchbacks ... guide.html take a look at that it gives u a rundown how to pack the bike for flying0

remove discs rear mech wheels handle bars deflate tyres.
i use pipe lagging and zipties all over the frame seat stays chain stays zip tie the rear mech to the chain stay. dependin on bike i remove the crank to ziptie the bars to the toptube, bag the bike up..
thats a quick guide.. do a search theres been a few threads on this..www.bearbackbiking.com

And remember, if you're using loads of zipties etc to package it, take more so you can package it up again to bring it home...Uncompromising extremist0

I stole half the worlds bubble wrap from work on my last trip and turned it into a ball :-D
Stuck it a DHB oversixed bag and bam all sorted :-D
Should a seen the guys looking at me when I unwrapped it lol, and then when they saw my hope pro 2 hub was being used as rear spacer lol.0 -
Pipe lagging is handy to stop your frame picking up chips. It's also a good idea to take a photo of the bike-box itself (with your name clearly visible) on your mobile phone. That way you don't have to struggle speaking to foreign airport staff should the worst happen. I've got my bike here with me in Sicily, I went with Ryanair and amazingly I didn't have any problems, bon voyage!0
