Hi all,
I am after some forks for my 2005 Spesh Epic.
I will be buying from evilbay and have a budget of £150, but can be flexible.
The original spec forks were Fox F100X, but I had Recons' on it as I built the bike up.
For my budget I think I would be able to get some older Fox RLs or Rebas. Are there any others I should consider?
Also is it best to stick with 100mm travel? I have always found the bike very twitchy, would getting a fork with different travel help, or screw up the handling completely??
Thanks
Cheehee

longer travel will slow down the steering and handling, maybe pushing up to 120mm might be ok.
If so look at the rev's too, 130mm but you can put a spacer in to reduce travel.0 -
Which Recons are they?0

Recon SL (coil) taken from a 2009 R'hopper.0 -
You can get the Recon Race solo air from Wiggle for 150 quid.
Older Fox not worth the money - dampers are not as good, expensive to maintain and service.0 -

What do you reckon to going to 120mm? too much for my bike??0 -
Possibly - you will have warranty concerns too.0

I find the travel adjust option appealing. I wouldn't go up to 130mm though.......
Thanks for the help BTW0 -
Good forks, but a lot heavier.0

So in the end I bought some Rockshox Tora Races.

The Recon Races sold out fairly quickly from Wiggle.
I got them for £150 ish with the Valentines offer, I also ordered a new stem and a Jersey.
I was tempted to pay an extra £70 and get some Reba SLs from Merlin, but with my (lack of) riding ability and for what I ride I reckon the Toras should do me fine.
Cheers
