new hydration pack

Ok so ive just bought my 1st hydration pack.... nothing special (pro action 1.5L) and it has a soft part on the end of the pipe which i presume is for gripping with your teeth only thing is theres no hole for the fluid to come through :? :?

am i ment to put my own hole in this or am i barking up the wrong tree and that isnt what its for????

    yes?? but without a hole the fluid has no where to go?? :?

    sometimes the hole is only part cut during manufacture so you might need to roll the bite valve between your fingers to open it fully. Once open you don't need to do this again.

    sorry for the cr@p photo..... andy i cant seem to see any hole or even impression of where it should be but i take it from your comments there SHOULD be a hole then??? :?

    Gave it a good bite and nothing :? so used a pair of scissors and put a small hole in and bobs your uncle :D:D

    looks like the same as one I bought from Blacks, the big blue bit is just an end cover, pull it off and then there is a hole / valve underneath

    I got a Blacks one that has the same valve, you have to pull that thing off, nothing comes out otherwise on mine

    As suggested above....just split the rubber in the end....it looks like a bite valve, it even has the little groove on the side, near the end , just like mine has.
