I have a rockshox recon race 09, with rebound adjustment. it has a red rebound adjuster with tortoise/hare symbols, and i understand that makes it bounce back slower or faster, but what is a desirable setting? I have searched and looked in the fAQ's but that only says what it is, not what a good setting is.

Setting depends on the rider and application. If you feel like the bike is trying to buck you off after a big hit then slow the rebound down. If the fork is packing down and losing travel after repeated hits then quicken it up.

I usually put it somewhere in the middle and work from there.
