Incompetence and late start

Went to the garage (7am)- back tyre flat.
Looked at tyre and decided to swap that aswell(~2200 miles)
I had three spare inner tubes...
Now I am in a rush.
Put the first one in pump it up - tyre stays flat.
do it again -tyre flat.
do it again - tyre flat.
3 pinch flats - incompetence or what.
Out of spare inner tubes - so fix two of them.
This time I take more care and I'm ready for off. Then I twang a few spokes and they don't go ping. Tighten them up.
I need my overshoes seeing as its still raining and I can only find one of them...
By this time its 9:30.
At least it all happened at home and by 9:30 the rain was starting to ease off.
