What do folks make of these then?

  • I've seen a guy on my commuting route from Greenwich with one of these (the herringbone one). I wonder how hot they get in the summer, and also how waterproof those helmet covers are.

    :?
  • Might be of interest to anyone worried about being "uncool " with a normal helmet.

I note that they're marketed by an electric bike company and I guess if you ride one of those, you don't need so much ventilation.

Probably too hot for use on a normal bike.
Sizes also seem a bit small .Certainly wouldn't fit me

Their large size is 57-59cm , Giro large size is 59-61cm.

Do the covers need to be waterproof? Surely the hardshell helmet underneath possesses waterproof powers.

thought they looked great. Tried one on and it was soooooo uncomfortable. Maybe I have an odd shaped head

Well if they soaked up rain like a towel wouldn't it be quite heavy after a long ride?

I'm sorry but you wear those kinds of helmets to play polo not to ride a bike!

Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.
  • They should do one shaped like a pith helmet, would be a good one to wear for the tweed run.

I just thought that they were quite neat....

Personally though, I am holding out for the Deerstalker!

absolutely, I'll take one of each: a Tokyo for round town, a Cambridge (sshurley they mean Newmarket) for the racing, and (until they make a deerstalker) a Paris in oilskin for shooting on the estate.
