pace RC200 F3

just picked this up tonight......been after one ever since i was a boy reading the print off MBUK every day!

seemed a decent price, but it turned out sound.

basically the guy has owned it from new, he raced for pace and this was one of the bikes they let him keep when he packed it in

he has hardly used the bike, having a cellar full of road bikes and modern mtbs to keep him busy these days.

so basically it was kept as a memento, and rarely ridden, even spending 7yrs hanging on the wall of his holiday home in france.

heres a few pics......a good clean and set up tomorrow, then see what it needs, apart from the shocks being almost solid its a sound bike.

























its an F3 and a 16'', always thought that would be too small, but the longer top tube makes it an ideal fit, i was chuffed to bits. it has some good parts, full XT bar the XTR rear mech, and comes in at not too shabby 24.2lbs......thats with pedals.

Very nice, with a full recommissioning she will be as shiny as the day she was purchased. Love the Pace frames from that period. If I wasn't so poor from blinging up the Marin, would have one in a heartbeat. Nice work.

PS: a nice bit of metal polish (just don't go over the decals ) will bring that frame up lovely.

yeah, its a getting a good clean and service, and a few new bits and pieces............titanium bars and post, magura hydraulics.

Wow - this takes me back. Are those RC35 forks?

The purple bits were a craze in 1994/1995 so I think they date the bike to then.

Really nice mate. Enjoy riding it!

One more thing - for period authenticitc you'll have to find:

1. A Panaracer Smoke for the rear, and a Dart on the front.
2. A "brake beefer"
3. Onza purple bar ends

now earing xt shifters, xtr v brakes and titanium bars........







comes up nice after a service and clean.

yeah they pop u now and again, mainly frames though, rarely a full bike.

i paid £550.

yeah same here

it rides better than most modern bikes still, its still quite a bike.

when im out i just have to remember i have 1'' travel and v brakes not discs!........still fine for the red and black routes however.

What a beauty, Ive always wanted an RC200. Maybe one day I'll have the time and funds to add one to the shed.

few changes:

new rear cassette on
new chain on
smoke and dart rubber on

flite titanium seat and purple answer hyperlite bars on there way.

quick clean yesterday.

She looks great mate, I always wanted one back in the day. My younger brother still has a rigid Marin indian fire trail circa 1993, weighs literally nothing and still looks fantastic.
