Nothing negative about the spec, looks might be more contentious but that is purely subjective anyway. More importantly(for any of us) can you ride it as good as the spec?Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Well...not sure what to say to be honest...
The spec is good no doubt, as a comparison I just specced up a planet x pro carbon build with the same components (as near as possible) and it came to £2400
Assuming you could sell the PX frame & forks for £200 (as new, second hand) that would leave you with £1300 to buy a frame & forks with...
The raleigh suddenly seems a bit expensive at £3500....unless of course that frame is amazing....0 -
got to agree with ravey..
I've never ridden one - never even seen one (except the pics), but for £3.5k I can't help thinking that the Raleigh might not have been first on my list...I'm sure it's a good bike though...0 -

You sure that's not a typo!
Only just less than the build price of my Cervelo S2 with Sram Red and Zipp wheels!0 -

WOW! That does seem expensive.
I thought about the BMC frame and I'm sure I could have built the complete bike to a high spec, cheaper than that...
£3500.......  :shock:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
I am not convinced that it is really that expensive for a 2010 bike. A Giant TCR Advanced SL for £250 more only has Ultegra.
The frameset on the Avanti is brand new for 2010 and in person is actually rather nice. Obviously they have put a lot of effort into the bike and the new team to go with it. (We shall see where that goes!) The wheels are great, although not super high end, and the finishing kit is decent enough.
Yes, you could go out and buy up lots of bits on the net and a frame from last year or on the cheap, but not everyone can be bothered with building a bike from bits.
I for one will be waiting to hear how it is. Fingers crossed for you mate, let us know how it goes. I have got one on the way too, but the difference is I am selling mine, not riding it!0 -
Hope you like it as much as I like my Airlite U6 Race0
