Anyone tried these? - 290 TPI for that money seems a snip for training - I have a set of Evo Corsas and also use Rubino Pros for training and both are great for the right conditiions

Just had Ribble send me a link - http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/triath ... ITTTYRF150 - RRP is rubbish at £52.95 as most sell these for £25/30 each.

The weight is a bit hefty at 265g but for training who cares really and dual sided will be interesting if a bit of a novelty. They seem to have the same casing as the previous open corsa 290 tpi according to Vittoria but with PRB 2.0 so more punture resistance.

Just a shame they are grey/black as red tyres always make me feel faster.. :)

interested to hear anyone who has experience of them

Ordered 2 today, look interesting, last twice as long and have 2 puncture strips! Sounds like the perfect training tyre to me.

I'm sure the princess-and-the-pea cyclists that populate this forum will say the ride is "dead" or whatever.
  • I've ordered two meself @ lunch.
    Bargain for the winter wheels.

May be worth it as cheap tyres to use between trainer/outside...

2 pairs arrived this morning. Mixed first impressions, they appear well made and the rubber feels quite sticky, but the double sidedness makes fitting a little annoying. The 2nd bead doesn't want to go on, had to drag a tyre lever around the last bit. This resulted in the first one popping off the rim and exploding when it was 6 inches away from my ears...

I'll post a review of them in a week.
  • I was going to order some but was slightly hesitant after reading some reviews...

Let us know what you think of them. Appreciate it.

I've done about 4.5 hours on them in the last 2 days. @ 120 psi they feel very smooth and I set a PB on my local training hill today, so they haven't slowed me down; in fact I'd say they're faster than krylion's. Too early to know about their wear or puncturelessness.

Their only problem is fitting, they're a bit awkward to get on the rim so need a bit more patience. Beginners might want to avoid, but as long as you are competent at fitting tyres, they're not too bad.

At their normal price I wouldn't buy them over Rubino pro's, but at £10 they're amazing (so far).
  • cheers will order some and give them a try
