Me and my riding mates often visit the surrey hills.

These include Holembury, Pitch and Leith hills. We would like to know where are the rally good trails, jump spots and freeride sections that are rumored to be there are.

If you can help please post Where they are in relation to the nearest car park

There's some good trails on holmbury hill, not really freeride, more xc trails with a few jumps and drops, such as rollercoaster which starts on the right of the main fireroad from the top, Barry Knows best which starts acroos the road from the reservoir (and reservoir dogs ends at the reservoir, and starts at the carpark but is very gloopy at the moment) There's a few trails on pitch which are a bit more technical, with bigger jumps etc. I don't know of trails on leith hill, but there's supposed to be some good singletrack

Go there and talk to people. People are usually very helpful but if not then try the super friendly guy in the the Peaslake bike shop. If you really are after jumps and freeriding then you are probably out of luck.

Myself spotted some crazy places on Leith Hill, can't point out where they are ... been riding all 3 hills and spotted them. But yeah, Pitch and Holmbury don't really have drops 'n'jumps you looking for, at least to my knowledge. Guess its all down to you to shmooze out places on Leith Hill*.

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though
  • Hi, for free ride and jumps leith hill is probably your best bet.
there are trails with north shore stuf others with very big jumps, if you go up to tower and take your first on the left, you should see some trails shooting down the hill side, just explore then.

how to ruin a good place and really get the back up of other countryside user, run a few articles in some magazines and watch the place get over subscribed. If your bike weighs under 30lb I would suggest you get out and take the path less travelled by, that is how you will find the true gems. It is a bit like the cliche of countryside users only venturing a couple of miles from the carpark. When you are only one of a handful of bikers no one cares even when you venture onto paths your not supposed to be on, but all hang out in one place, when a family has had 30 or so bikers storm past them in 10min, thats when conflict starts and crappy rules start. Go explore

Good advice surreyxc. In that spirit, what is a good car park starting point for that area, to just start trying something out, xc oriented ?
