i am about 5 10, with a 31 inside leg. i have tried a medium (18 ) Giant and my 'sack' for want of a better word was only just above the top bar.

the guy in the bike shop said that this was the right size, even though it didnt feel that convertable. would it be better to go a size smaller and set the seat back or ehat is the best advice for sizing.

is it better to go smaller and adjust or suffer the larger size if you have an off.

well try more bikes till you find one that you are comfortable on

stated size means not much. clearance means little as the bike has suspension.

if it does not feel right it will not be.

  • I`m 6ft and ride a medium Giant.If anythinh its a smidge too small for me,but I`m 33" leg.
Normally I`d say medium would be spot on for your height, but youv`e got to be comfortable on the bike.

This is where you need to try a few bikes.

    I have a small frame with a 31'' inside leg, but I'm only 5' 5''.

We are all very different shapes so size of bike to height of person is only a starting place.

  • I am 5'11" and both my bikes are 19" frames (or large), so go figure. Truth be told the Hardrock doesn't have a huge amount of clearance but for xc and commuting purposes it is fine. The stand over on my stumpy is perfect though.
