Giant FCR4 to Defy 4

I bought a Giant FCR4 last summer for the daily 24mile round trip commute. I never had a road bike before and was a bit scared of drop handle bars and the brakes, etc, hence going for the flat bar option. Now that I've done approx 2.5k miles on the bike (with my general road craft skills improving) I think I've made a mistake and should have gone for the Defy. The Question is, could I convert the FCR4 to a Defy/drop bar bike and what would be the best and cheapest way of doing this.
