Has anyone been up to Hamsterley over the past few days ? If so, , how were the trails ? We had a fresh covering of snow over the weekend but I think that was restricted to the NE coast.

    I would be intrested to know too. I was thinking of going on sunday. I've never been before.

    Is the 'orange skills type park' usable by a single speed bike? (not for me my brother)

    I had heard that there is more snow on the way though :(

    I was up there on Sunday.

    I went round the whole red route which was fairly well iced up, and made what was otherwise a fairly straightforward route pretty tough going (for me anyway, my mate managed to get round most of it).

    On the higher more exposed sections there was also quite a lot of hard parked snow which was generally ridable.

    I had more fun myself down on Saturday in the Yorkshire Dales near Reeth. There was less sheet ice, the snow was more ridable and there was a helpful chap in the Dales Bike Centre who helped us work out a good route.
