I got new rockshox recons, and according to this guide (http://www.sram.com/_media/pdf/service/ ... lation.pdf) i should have around 50 psi (i'm 44kg) so would i be able to use the foot pump i use for my tyres, as it's a similar pressure to tyres, and shock pumps are for higher pressures?

    Nope. get a shock/fork pump.

Thanks. Why is this? Too high pressure? Normal pump would pump to much air in at to low a pressure?

for a start the footpump will not fit the recessed valve on the forks

then you need to move low volumes of air at high pressure, a foot pump moves high volumes of air at a lower pressure.

get the right tool for the job, a shock pump.

Ok thanks, just wondered if i could save a bit of money there, but is suppose a car tyre, which it is designed for, a has a lot bigger volume than one leg of my forks.
