Dahon wheels running out of True

I've had a Dahon Mu P8 now for about 8-months.

For the past 4 or 5 months I've been using it to commute about 10 miles each way through the Forest of Dean. The commute is by road, though the road surface is not good and I do hit a few bumps in the dark when I commute in the morning (and did hit a low curb once hard enough to burst the inner tube).

I'm only about 10stone, but my two panniers on the back add about 11kg.

In the past couple of months I've had to have the rear wheel trued by my LBS twice, and the guy at the shop reckons "it's just one of those things" and it may well need re-truing every couple of months.

Is this normal or is the chap in the shop just not so good at truing wheels?

Any advice appreciated.

Nick
