Bars and Helmet for February

Already have decided what the next pay checks are going on....
so recommendations needed on these 2 areas:
Helmet - I need something thats light yet upto the job, but i dont want a lump on my head.... my current Giro was a cheapo one to keep people happy, I very rarely wear it as its just too bulky and not comfortable.... but as my speed is increasing especially with my fixed gear i am starting to get a bit worried about stupid road users as I often have to go hard on the brakes  (new pads may be needed soon :P )
Handle bars (brakes) - I feel I need something strong I have high riser MTB bars on the fixed (they came as standard) today I was pulling away and i could see and feel the bars bending. I am running a 48/13 at the moment and I dont like to pull away slow, so strength is a must as I do pull very hard on them. I have not decided between bullhorns or drops. I am totally unsure on which would be better for me.
Any Help is much appreciated
(for reference, 5'10 and currently 13stone (will most likely drop back to 12 soon) with stupidly big thighs )

Drops will give you the advantage of more than one position, but if you are riding a fixie with no hoods, bullhorns will be preferrable for sprint starts. If you have brakes go for drops without hesitationleft the forum March 20230

Definitely going to be using brakes, as I dont think anyone is strong enough to slow the bike as fast as brakes do!!! even tho i prefer not to use brakes they have saved my bacon a couple of times :P
I am more tempted by horns as I like the clean look.... although I do like the look of track drops as they also have that clean look. the clean lines are what I am after. I cant help it but I think hoods look ugly.
track bars with dirty harry style brake levers or bull horns with bar end brake levers...... How stiff is carbon compared to alloy? I am after just buying one set of bars and not needing to get another set and another, weight is not an issue :-P
Helmet will be a LBS thing as I need to know it fits perfectly.FCN: 5/6 Fixed Gear (quite rapid) in normal clothes and clips
