Dura-Ace pedal removal

Now normally I'm fine at removing and installing pedals - have done it loads of times. But for some reason, I just can't get my Dura-Ace (7800) pedals off. The nut that's usually part of the pedal axle (ie the one closest to the crank and not the one holding the pedal body to the axle)...isn't...and it just spins once undone. I don't get it - can anyone suggest anything before I bother the LBS?

You need an 8mm allen key on the end of the pedal spindle .See This attachment.
