Nothing to do with cycling but I know you will do your best to embarrass me and put me in my place so here goes.

How low should my belt on my jeans be ? I know I'm aging a bit and my daughter keeps despairing at my lack of style etc. but I'd like an answer to this. Is two inches below the belly button too high? too low. I was going to say two inches above but then you really would have taken the .......
be gentle with me, I do have some feelings

This is a trick question isn't it John? The answer is that you are too old to be wearing jeans at all, whatever height the belt is at!

At your age, shouldn't it be somewhere up near the nipple-line?

Knew I could rely on you to knife a man when he's already down. :(
I'm not going to say what she says when I'm in my licra cycling kit, but I bet you can guess.

    On your waist.

I saw an old fella the other day - his trousers were so high, I just had to ask him what size chest they were.

Don't wear the belt too low like some of the kids I've seen on the street with the jeans as high as the bottom of their boxers which is asking for a sharking
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    I don't get this.

Who makes trousers with enough room for you to pull then up that high?

Too high is when your balls are forced into the trouser leg when sitting down.
Too low is when your arse would on show if it wasn't for a t-shirt.

What people still wear T/Polo/Tennis Shirts that aren't long enough to cover your arse?

As I'm a 5'4" dwarf a shirt that doesn't cover my arse is a collar . My normal cycling tops could be worn as a dress, if i was that way inclined . Hm. Think I'm digging a very big hole .

High waists are back in fashion anyway.

Sod the belt - buy trousers that fit properly!
Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.
  • As the bbc news link further up the page says, it is very age dependant, im 17 so most of the time you can see a bit of my legs below my boxers before you get down to the top of my jeans
If you are looking for advice on trouser height then find your age on the chart and go from there. You cant be old and cool nomatter what your daughter says. If you are old wearing cool clothes you just look out of place like you are trying to be cool which is even worse than weraing your jeans like simon cowell.
    Hope this helps. :D
