New Alpe d'Huez event May 2010 / Marmotte entries 2010

This spring will see an inaugural event on Alpe d'Huez that may be of interest to you mountain lovers out there: '21 Virages de Vie' (roughly translated; 21 Hairpins for Life).
The date is Sunday 23rd May 2010. A charity ride (to raise money and awareness for a children's cancer charity) up Alpe d'Huez where riders attempt multiple ascents in a day. Based on a similar Dutch event (Alpe d'Huzes) where riders complete anything between 1-6 climbs of the Alpe in 12 hours (the maximum achieved in '09 was 9 times).

Other local news is that the Marmotte sportive on 3rd July 2010 has now reached it's capacity and Sportcommunications have temporarily suspended taking entries.
