Just bought a shimano xt m771 ( i believe) rear mech from wiggle for £26, it's the OE version which i believe doesn't come in original box with instructions.
Is this a good deal or are these different in some way to a proper boxed version??

No different to normal.
Just without a box, may have instructions, if not www.parktool.com will tell you how to fit & adjust it

Shimano OE stuff is identical to after market stuff, less the fancy packaging. you should still get fitting instructions, if not here's a link to the PDF on the shimano site.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
