    Discs for a road bike are about modulation not stopping power, I knew the UCI hadn't allowed them on Cross bikes so I'd always figured that is what stopped their developement.

    Remember a lister rim with a disc moves the rotating mass closer to the hub, so surely a better option...

    Remember for the first 6 years of the TdF only fixed wheels were allowed, gears were for 'cheats'! There's always someone trying to stop progress.

    I've got discs on my cross bike, on wetter races I'm quite often the only rider with any braking control left towards the end of the race. Doesn't seem to help me improve my finishing position much though. :wink:
