A point I discovered this afternoon is if you ipdate the firmware on your 705 to 2.9 or later (mine came with 3.1) it supports larger cards (mine accepts 8gb, haven't got anything bigger to test)0

Good info there Heckler, not seen that mentioned anywhere before, all Garmin GPS`s (including the car and m/cycle units) seem to be restricted to 2Gb SD cards max (until now) and don`t support SDHC :?Jens says "Shut up legs !! "

Newbie question but a valid one I suppose now that the accepted card sizes are bigger, if you dump a second gmappsupp.img onto the SD card (say you wanted to keep Topo selections and Road as selectable map options) does it see two different maps or just get confused?0

as long as you have one map on the internal memory and one on the SD its fine...
In the Settings > Maps you can turn on which one you want to see.
I only have small sections of topo ever on the device, and the full city nav on the SD card. Mainly becuase mind you i have the earlier 705 with less internal space0 -
Hi all,
I have Euro City Nav maps on SD format (cannot buy DVD version in Australia)
When I do the copy an rename method as suggested, I get parts fo the map which..
Have grey blocks covering some of the map detail
Missing map detail
What appears to be segments of maps which don't glue together correctly...
Any tips of trick to fix this?
thanks in advance0
