Am I missing something obvious here?

I already suspect that the answer is a resounding yes!

I've seen one of these Pennarolo Diamante frames (not Pinarello) on offer recently and then in doing a google search, I've come across this page link

http://www.bcdpennarola.com/uk/ec_vis_p ... asp?id=503

Am I seeing it right?? Carbon frame + Campag Super Record for 999.99 Euros rather than 5,684 Euros???? It must be me being thick I'm sure.

Can't be correct, but if it is let me buy first!

    Hmmm.

    Payment method looks dodgy...

Looks too good to be true to me.

I tempted to buy one and sell the parts for a profit

But would no doubt keep it if it came in my size which sadly it doesn't :(

Have dealt with a number of Italian companies over the years mostly for work and what strikes me as odd is that they do not accept any major credit cards. As anybody knows if you want to sell anything form a webshop you need to accept Major credit cards or Paypal. We have had situations where we have paid via Bank transfers but i am talking very specialised equipment and expensive, when the manufacturer is very well known to us. I would deffo not buy from this website. Have contacted a colleague of mine to see if he can find out anything about this company, my colleague is in Milan. If there is anything to tell i will post rightaway.

It is not unusual for continental companies to only accept bank transfers. It normally implies more trust rather than less. A local online bike shop to me sends the goods with an invoice, I can't see CRC, et al doing that. Equally another shop will only deliver once funds have cleared. As long as everyone trusts everyone else it works OK.

I agree with your doubts about this offer, the frame alone goes for EUR 1999 elsewhere on the website. I expect there is a three or four missing. The question is whether they have made a binding offer to you. As their website says, only the courts of Turin are competent to answer that.

I have just received an email from the company to say that they were experiencing website problems and that the advertised price was indeed correct.

A shame as I thought that I had hit on a real bargain there - although I had suspected that it was an error.
