I think downfader meant the Paralympics. The Special Olympics does exist though... it's for people with learning disabilities.

I know nowt about racing tandems, so sorry if this is a stupid question but how do the front cranks work - is there a drive rod inside the frame?0

Tandems usually have a chain between front and rear cranks on the left hand side, so it is probably there but out of sight.0

Sure I seen an article on this on BR before - pretty sure it is a shaft-drive between the front & rear cranks, looks mental - Batman's just out of shot, he's off for a slash...Moda Issimo
