I've not ridden my road bike in over 3yrs, but I do ride mtn bieks so fitness is fine.
What tyre choice would you recommend for this time of the year as the ones on the bike (Trek 2300) look a little post their best!

Going for a bike ride on the local roads.
Budget? It's not been ridden for 3 yrs, so let's not waste money on something that gets used so very little.0 -
Good tyres are available from £10 each: how about these Continental:

Wire bead are cheaper than kevlar, and you sacrifice only portability of spares. Puncture resistant strips under the tread may be desirable, depending on how likely punctures are on your roads. Wider tyres are better everywhere, really: 25 mm–ish is the practical maximum for normal road bikes. Fully slick carbon–black rubber tread is best, also, rain or shine. There's a variety here:

Michelin Krylion Carbons are a good all-rounder. Pretty decent overall performance and pretty p^^£%>*! resistant.

I was wondering.
Would a new pair of Michelin Pro Race be unwise / unsuitable in this colder weather?
I have such a pair in my bike-bits-box.0 -
