Has anyone got any experience with these bikes.....only I am contemplating a purchase and would apprieciate any input from owners or dealers. I live in Lancashire and cannot find a dealer that stocks the bikes I have my beady on, and therefore would have to order on line and hope I got a good product. ie. The Ravel 2.0 28 The Gatika mens or The Garai mens.

The mountain bikes did not get good reviews on this site but hopefully the ''leisure'' bikes are a might better?

  • The largest distributor of Orbeas in the UK is Epic Cycles, in Worcs, though I don't know if they do the hybrids as they're more of a roadie type of place.

TBH if you're going for a hybrid, I'd stick to something easily available from your LBS (Specialised Sirrus Elite, say) and then if there's any post-purchase adjustment / advice needed, you're on the spot.

Didn't they? I've never seen an Orbea Mountain bike review on this website.

  • Thanks for the replies folks!....I have previously checked out the range of Specialised and a wide variety of other brands too. The Orbeas was the one that ticked the most boxes for my preferences!.....(I use a bike for rather unusal purposes and have slightly different criteria than that of the norm).

My other previous choices before accidently coming across the Orbeas were.....the Felt QX 80 Hybrid, and the Giant Roam XR 2/3.

My current hardtail is around a decade old now and is no longer the mean machine it once was (....and neither am I).

I noticed in a holiday brochure that the Orbeas Ravel (Spanish) was bieng used by the tourists to get around the mountain trails and is a popular piece of kit in that part of the globe.

My only concern regarding the spec was the Suntour nex 4110...... within the Shimano deore laden other spec on a £600+ bike seamed a tad out of place!!

My wife has an Orbea Milennium hybrid which was bought new off Ebay about 3 years ago. It had a list price of £550 and was part of a batch being sold for £175 each.
It has proved to be a sturdy and reliable ride but not the lightest bike on the market.
Overall, unbeatable value for what we paid, but at full price there would have been other bikes which were equally good.
Genesis Croix de Fer - my new commuting mount
Saracen Hytrail - the workhorse - now pensioned off
Kinetic-One FK1 roadie - the fast one - hairy legs though!
Cannondale Jekyll Lefty MTB - the muddy one which keeps tipping me into gorse bushes!
