Went to Afan this weekend doing Whites yesterday and Wall today.

Was really really impressed with the Wall. I've done it before but when i was less fit and also in the afternoon after doing Whites in the morning. So i wasn't exactly looking forward to Wall in some ways.

However bloody hell it's GREAT when you're fresh. The fireroad gentle climb is nice and easy to get the body warmed up and ready. ?Then the big slog of fireroads and climbs. The little sections in between are WAY better than i recall.

The downhills are pretty intense at my level of abilty and really take their toll on me... I enjoyed them lots though

Lol . I thought it was a power ranger.

Glad you had a blast. I'm back up there next month for a weekend. Was there any news on when the new cafe opens where the dropoff cafe used to be? Thinkskylie cycles are supposed to be running it.

I was there today to do a shortened Skyline (I think we basically did the July trail, but I was just following the herd), with a blast around the around the Energy trail thrown in for good measure. I've done very little riding for the last couple of months, so I really struggled with the distance, but it was so good to get out at Afan again - I love the place! :D

Compared to a tortoise he's quick as you like ;)

As you can see, he's neither young nor slim...

he does indeed have a big heart and strength of spirit which means if we start the climb, we get up it :)
