Who's big?

I've been watching the highlights of the Tour Down Under and one thing has struck me. George Hincapie used to be big but he isn't any more. Now Jens Voigt is big. It appears that only one rider at a time can be Big <name> but it's not clear to me how the award is made and on what basis. I could write to Liggett to ask for confirmation, but I thought I'd check here first.

  • No, there's only ever one big person on the pro tour circuit at a time (in the world of Liggett). George is no longer big, Jens is.

It's not decided on size - technically George is bigger. I think the process needs to be transparent - we do not need another scandal in the sport.

Perhaps whoever is currently 'big' could wear a specially coloured jersey so we can all tell who it is.

In fact they could do that for whoever's leading the race, whoever's best in sprints, whoever's best at climbing hills... What do you think?

None of them are big. It's like when they go on about 'big' cntre halves in football who are about 6' and 12 stone (i.e. would be classed as small on a rugby pitch  ). Eros Poli is the only genuinely big cyclist I can think of! :D
