Do all you guys wear padded shorts when riding the roads ?

I come from a mountain bike background and have never wore padded shorts but have been told by the cycle shop i should be wearing them.

  • Yes! I couldn't imagine not wearing them! I've found that a few miles in non-padded shorts hurts more then a few hours with padded shorts!

yep, needed on the MTB too!
  • definitely.

I commute to work and Uni and always wear padded shorts under jeans. Without the shorts it would be like putting my genitals through a grinders!!!

I found that MTB shorts (the baggy type with a padded lining) dont suit Road bike seats at all, so get some Lycra!!

Yes. Padded shorts make a whole world of difference to your comfort and enjoyment. Bib shorts are comfier than 'waist' shorts too. 8)
