I am organising a group of 12 to visit Afan this coming wednesday to friday.

We will be riding Whites on wed. afternoon and having a full day Thursday on Skyline.

Is there anyone who has recently been that way or indeed lives in the area that can tell me what the trail conditions are like after the snow and rain we have had.

Also, has anyone stayed here http://www.brynbettwslodge.com/ .

Just prep'd my bike for the trip, i think mud x's are going on.

Not been recently, but it usually drains very well. I hope so because I'll be up there tomorrow on Racing Ralphs :D

gonna be riding white's level today on my R8, yesterday weather was cool and sunny, looks like it'll be the same today, however as above, i expect it'll still be pretty muddy in places, however most of the trail drains well...

Let me know how Whites was. Is there any sections of Skyline closed.

hello mate - i'm back and aching all over! lol

Whites level is open as usual and for the most part well drained (just little streams everywhere over the rocks) it is quite slippy in places and some flat open sections have quite claggy/clay mud but not too bad at all. There was no snow that i came across although some trees have come down over some parts of the trail so take it steady...

I had video'd the last decent but just watched it now and it only shows directly beneath my bike - not the trail ahead! lol ah well that'll teach me for trying the cam on my camelbak strap instead of my helmet!!

FFS there is a routes section just for topics like this.
