What Cassette?

After asking this on another forum and so far not getting any replies.....

After many years of using XT cassettes I am wondering if SRAM are worth a go. I use SRAM 991 chains.

I was looking at getting the SRAM 990 cassette

Any comments on which is best - one bike is used for general natural and trail centre riding the other for racing and natural trails.

Thanks
Daveb

Where you are going to use them makes little difference.

I'd still get XT for the low weight, decent price, good shifting and good longevity (plus the 6 sprockets on a alloy carrier)

Shimano (XT) are my choice, lighter, cheaper & shift better than the equivalent Sram cassettes

Kind of thought that would be the case but wanted to check as I am buying two - thanks for the quick responses.

  • SLX look quite good for price and weight.Only 20g or so heavier then XT,in a 11-32. and for £30ish a bit of a bargain.
