My winter bike is falling apart and I'm looking for a replacement. These two are available from local retailers throught cyclescheme and I wonder if anyone has experience of riding both or suggesting a third alternative.
I want something sporty enough for fast winter road ride that will also manage pannniers for a weekend trip and be competent for off roading. Am I asking too much?

the tricross is shocking - performed appallingly in tests, as well as being ugly as anything. Jake miles better, jake the snake better again0

Try a Genisis Day One, they look beautiful!! If I was buying a(nother) winter bike, I think that I would get one!! http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/cross/day-one/0

cheers for the tips. I have a fixie and a good road bike already. This one will have to carry some luggage for the occasional tours I do and must have gears for that use and to be useable off road. I am erring towards the Jake.0
