i would like to buy and build up my first 2nd hand full suspension frame.Providing the linkage is all ok and the shock is not leaking what other pitfalls should i expect to come across..?.Will i be able to fit cable disc brakes and how does the rear triangle movement affect gear change / chain slack / and the brake cable tension anyhow..?

Does it have disc mounts? If so yes.
The rear derailer takes care of chain slack, while slightly longer outer sections between the two traingles account for cable movement.0 -

It does make a difference as to how you route your cables, you will need to mount an outer section that routes the cable between the down tube and rear triangle (or whichever the route) otherwise you'll go up a few gears every time you bounce over a bump.
