How do you fix your stuff to your helmet?

Lights, camera, action!

What methods do you use to secure stuff (and what stuff) to your polystyrene bone dome?

I'm after inspiration so pictures of overloaded Giro Hex's are welcome.

One of those lights that strap to your bare head is now attached to my helmet minus its webbing, by judicious use of cable ties and the gear cables that were left over when I fitted a Di2 gear changer to my bike.

Once the nights draw out tho the light & helmet retire to the garage again.

Maybe I lied about the gear cables there.

Thank goodness for that, I saw the title of this thread and thought you were asking about a Prince Albert

On a more sensible note, I've often wondered what the safety implications of strapping extra bits onto your helmet are. Surely it must compromise to some extent any protection it gives.

  • I use a simple headtorch the headband doesn't really stick it on the helmet very well so I just chained together a few sandwhich bag type ties and used those to securre the headband to the helmet frame - quick and easy

  • I use Velcro straps bought from Homebase to attach my Fenix to my lid during the winter months. Was going to use cable ties but I figured that Velcro was more likely to undo in the event that I needed to use the helmet for its primary purpose - so less likely to compromise whatever protection it may provide.

  • Velcro cable ties. They work out at 20-30p each, but I borrowed mine from work

Duck tape and cable ties, same way as I fix anything else.

(actually, this isn't true. I don't fix anything to my helmet)
