Tolworth A240 - Morden A24

I've got another training day next week, now in the past I've gone though kingston and Morden town centre on way to Mitcham junction. trouble is even on a bike it's slow going with lots of stops for lights, roundabouts etc.
So though I'd try the A240 blast along the dual carriageway and along the old roman road and further on DDD's road, the A24
I'll be turning off at the harvester pub.
be on the roadie and about 14 miles so longer than the other route but should be faster so should be quicker? at least thats the hope!
thoughts?

yup, don't seem to see many bikes at all, going to training. Time of day and how far from central i guess.0
