Whats the difference between a road and a TT bike? is a time trial bike perfectly suited for normal club rides? :)

The difference is that TT bikes are specialised for TT racing only, whereas your normal road bike is a good all-rounder.

TT bikes are more aerodynamic, have a more extreme riding position (BB shifted back and aero bars) and as a result of this specialisation are usually a bit more expensive! Probably much less comfortable too.

A TT bike is not really suited to club rides. The geometry is more severe on a TT bike, they are designed to get your frontal area as low as possible, whilst using aero bars.

That will mean a small head tube, and a steeper seat tube. With tri bars they are not the easiest bikes to climb hills with.

If you are not going to be racing TT's, then a TT bike is pointless IMO. If you can only afford one bike, then get the road bike, and fit tri bar extensions, but again using extensions on a club ride is a little bit silly, especially if you are in a group.

Yeah theres an obvious price difference :?

What are they like for circuit races? I'm assuming they're the same as a normal road bike however part of your comforts sacrificed for speed.

like dragon says - TT bikes are not allowed in road or circuit races - TTs only.

Just stick to normal bars only for mass start, and whack TT bars on for TTs.
