Which chain?

Hi all
Which Sram chain should i buy?
PC 951 or
PC 971
My budget wont stretch much further i'm afraid

Sorry. PC 991 is worth the extra for looks.

PC951. Buy a couple. Swap well before it has stretched too much.

How often would you swap the chain.
I ride approx 3 times per week around 10 - 15 miles in Calderdale. Year round riding too

Check the stretch with a chain checker tool.

how accurate are those tools as i checked a chain that was around 9 years old and had done 1000's of miles and it indicated that it wasn't stretched.
Now i'm no expert but i would have expected it to have been well strectched after that amount of riding

Mine is very accurate and saves getting the tape ot and counting links.

I have been using 971s for a while now. I think the half chrome plating is a nice upgrade over the 951.

Get about 1000 miles out of them but my cleaning isnt what it should be

Trying some KMC X9. 93 chains atm on my bikes, will see how well they do.
