I'm after any suggestions for some new tyres for a Whyte 19 to be used mainly on road and light trail for a 16 mile commute to work when the weather improves??

semi slicks , smallish width , say 1.7 - 1.9
preferably with puncture protection within the tread.
loads on crc website for you to look at.
i use maxxis worm drive , they're very good although there are many other good brands available too.
hope that helps.0 -
Ive got a pair of Continental Sport Contact 1.7 on my Boardman Team at the moment and i find them to be very good on the road. If the light trails are pretty solid and not very muddy then you should be fine there too. I think i paid about £32 for the pair which included the inner tubes too. My mate has a Boardman Pro and he has the same tyres but the smaller size of 1.3.Boardman Team 09 HT

other suggestion would be intense micro knobbys, they are 2.25. tho probably quite a bit expensive and wont accelerate as fast as thinner tyres.. even tho its supposed selling point is being a dirt jump tyre, it works quite well on road & hardpack forest trails.0

I used halo twin-rails. Really good and offer a bit of grip on hard-pack earth0

I'm using Michelin XC Hard Terrain. 2.00.
Found them to be excellent for road and light off road (hard packed). Nice comfy ride as well.0
