some info on Dowies Track here

when it rains the FOD gets pretty muddy and takes a while to dry out, so best to have a couple of days of dry weather before venturing on these tracks for maximum enjoyment, they are not all weather tracks like those at Sallow Vallets0 -
Both runs are now clear after a lot of good work, thanks to all who did there bit.
Just hope the FC have finished for good, murdocks track also cleared.
In reply to previous question, location of Dowies can be found on Google maps search: forest of dean mountain bike tracks0 -

The Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club (RDFCC) ride out from the Fountain Inn, Parkend, at 9.30 on Sunday mornings (alternate road and MTB). They're pretty laid back and I'm sure if you asked to tag along they'de be happy to take you. There is an evening ride too (wed or thu?) but it's not mentioned on their website so you'de have to ask about that.0 -
I'm in a group that rides every Wednesday from the Tufthorn pub Milkwalll 7,30pm. Good group of local guys of all ages and abilities. Back about 9.30pm for some drinks/nibbles if desired. We rides approx 10-15miles. Some of the older gents do a B route more gental affair.
We also do a sunday morning0 -
the Bigfoot mountain bike club, are often in the forest too.0
