Tour de San Luis
Looks like quite a decent race again this year, with some big names. Nibali, Kolobnev, Chicchi, Napolitano, Serpa, Rasmussen... er.... Botero, Victor Hugo Peña, etc.
Chicchi won the first stage in a sprint, but yesterday's mountain stage was won by Rafael Valls from Footon. And yeah the kit still looks horrible.

Valls is a second year pro, who rode for Burgos-Monumental last year, but this was his first win.
GC after 2 stages:
1 Rafael Valls (Spa) Footon-Servetto-Fuji 8:19:34
2 Arnols Alcolea (Cub) Cuba 0:00:08
3 Jackson Rodriguez (Ven) Androni-Giocattoli 0:00:16
4 Jose Serpa (Col) Androni-Giocattoli 0:00:20
5 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo
6 Ignacio Pereyra (Arg) Argentina 0:00:26
7 Luca Mazzanti (Ita) Katusha 0:00:28
8 Javier Moreno (Spa) Andalucia-Cajasur
9 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Miche 0:00:29
There are 5 stages to go, including two more mountain finishes and a 20 km TT. Nibali is looking good, but it is January, so who knows.

Show me somewhere I can watch it and I'll edit the thread title. PS, the correct spelling is "spolier"0 -
Nibali rinses the TT and is in the lead now.
Only just realised Pippo Pozatto is riding. He did a good chrono too.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Serpa only 30" off the lead, though. Savio's boys always do well in these races.0

Nibali wins Stage 4 - 20k TT. Now top of GC

Last day today and it looks like Nibbles has it in the bag. Serpa has only been able to claw back 2 seconds in the last two climby stages, and today's stage is flat. So the final GC is probably this:
1 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo 22:00:01
2 Jose Serpa (Col) Androni-Giocattoli 0:00:28
3 Rafael Valls (Spa) Footon-Servetto-Fuji 0:01:19
4 Ignacio Pereyra (Arg) Argentina 0:01:37
5 Santiago Botero (Col) Colombia 0:02:15
6 Jackson Rodriguez (Ven) Androni-Giocattoli
7 Jorge Giacinti (Arg) Scott - Marcondes Cesar Sao Jose Dos Campos
8 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Miche 0:02:16
9 Arnols Alcolea (Cub) Cuba 0:02:37
10 Carlos Ochoa (Ven) Androni-Giocattoli 0:03:45
It'll be interesting to see if Valls gets a shot at a grand tour this year. Maybe the Giro or Vuelta (assuming Footon are in the Giro). I think he is officially my ONE TO WATCH for 2010.0
