I have just paid for my
1. Race Licence renewal
2. BC membership renewal
3.£5 Rider Hq affiliation

It seems so expensive to compete at a low level (Cat 3), obviously wanting to do better this year . I also realise it is my choice to do this, but it all seems a bit steep just to get going. Anyone else feel the prices are a bit high ? Or am I just being tight ?

    It does seem a bit excessive, compared to other sports... :wink:
    Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!

    Last year my training buddy came out with a purler on just this subject.

    These costs come with every sport when it comes to competing but it's covered by the teams in team sports.

    It's a lot when it's to be covered by a single person though.

    I'm not so sure. Try playing Ice Hockey, golf, downhill skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, and the like. Lot of money to be spent there also. In slightly different ways, but if you want to participate you'll have to cough up the dollars.

    How much does this lot cost? I don't race (yet) but I used to race canoes and I was wodering how they compare costs wise.
