Degreasing chain after after wet ride?

I commute 26 miles to work each day working shifts so coming & going at all times of the day. What is the best way to maintain the chain?

I currently degrease and use wet-lube once a week at the moment but my chain and cassette still get a few rust marks on them. I dont want to degrease after each ride especially at 4am!

Any ideas?

A quick spray of a water dispersant like WD40 or something similar.

Don't degrease so often - run the chain through a rag weekly by all means but degreasing is overkill unless it gets particularly grubby.
