Westbrook Cycles in Stokesley. I bought my Scott CR1 from them, can't fault the service. They stock a good range of bikes, accessories and clothing. Their prices are really competitive too.

There's also Bike Traks in Great Ayton. I've heard good things about them but haven't got any personal experience of them.

Westbrooks probably have the bigger range of stuff.

I use BikeTraks quite a bit too

Both shops are located about 5 to 10 miles south of Middlesbrough centre.

Westbrooks have late night opening on Thursday to about 7 pm.

    +1 for the above shops.

Bike traks Great Ayton for road gear. Roger is very helpful.

Westbrook has excellent selection of equiment.

    Also bike scene at Guisborough.

Note none of these are in Middlesbrough town.

    Cheers

If anyone reading this thread is from Middlesbrough or the surrounding area then you might be interested in having a look over here http://www.mtbe.co.uk/ . There are quite a few Teesside based riders with regular rides organised both the road side and MTB side.

Is Middlesbrough still open. I though it closed years ago when the boys from Auf Weidesien Pet sold the transporter bridge to the Apaches..

I remember seeing a sign on the outskirts of the town saying that Middlesbrough was a "nuclear free town", apart from the nuclear power station at Harlepool, just across the river, that is.
I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks

Yeah, it's still open. Although the population is diminishing by the day - we keep sending them to Aberdeen to work on the rigs
