I am looking to replace my battered old gloves ready for the spring so I was looking for feedback on the best long finger gloves for a road bike.

I have winter gloves and I am after someting inbetween winter gloves and summer mitts.

Any advice / experiences?

Thanks[/u]

I've been using Altura Strada gloves since last October. So far they've not let me down, even with the recent cold spell I only had to use my 'Winter specific' gloves on a couple of rides.

For £12 I can't really fault them. Actually if I paid £20 I still wouldn't be disappointed. I got mine from Wiggle:

I really liked my Specialized Deflect gloves and might try the Gel version next .
Currently have two pairs of Assos 851 Early Winter gloves on the go and they're great in spring/fall conditions but I do slightly miss the extra padding from the Body Geometry palm.

    SPRING??
  • I was recently faced with a similar issue, my full on water proof winter gloves being a bit sweaty.

I bought Gore Mistral III. which I tried for the first time yesterday and seemed just warm enough, (for me).
    I ache, therefore I am.

I have a pair of Revolution Essential Three Season Gloves and find them excellent.

I also like the Specialized Deflect gloves (they were not good enough though for -5 deg so they aren't for really harsh days). Fine at the moment now that the thaw has set in!

Like all gloves, I would recommend trying them because the fit always seems different between manufacturers (some have longer fingers than I do whereas the thumbs are usually small for me...may be that says more about me then necessary...).
  • De Feet Dura. Lovely. And cheap. And lots of pro's use 'em.
